The Meditrax Surgery
Sterilization Module provides a complete system for quality
management of sterilization processes undertaken by
surgeries. This documentation in turn provides an audit
trail to track sterilised items to the patient.
For
customer protection, we must be able to identify any
specific item or equipment that has been used on a patient
and PROVE that is has successfully been through a
decontamination and sterilization process and that it has
been checked according to our policies and procedures.
Remember
that our defence in litigation is to provide documentary
evidence that equipment has passed through a decontamination
and sterilization process, which has been carried out and
checked. From that evidence, there is a high probability
that the equipment used was sterile, period.
Documentation is designed around requirements of AS/NZS
4815:2001. Cleaning, Disinfecting and Sterilizing Reusable
Medical and Surgical Instruments and Equipment and
Maintenance of Associated Environments in Health Care
Facilities.
