A good career in counseling?

I’m a freshman in college and trying to pick a major. I really just want to help people and think I could do well as a counselor of some type. I do not want to go the education route and be a high school counselor so I was wondering what else I could possibly major in. Also, I’m curious of the different types of jobs and fields I could work in.
